Joliet Head Football Coach George Warburton said, “I was telling the boys all week that we only have one job during homecoming and that’s to win, and we got it done.”

And win they did. Rye Brastrup returned the opening kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown and that was the beginning of the end as the J–Hawks routed Twin Bridges 62–12 at home on Sept. 25.

Brastrup dominated the rush game, carrying the ball 12 times for 235 yards and four touchdowns. Wyatt Anderson had one rush for eight yards and a score. Ty Cook replaced the injured Hayden Ward at quarterback and was 5/9 for 150 yards with three TD passes. He also had a 16–yard carry for a score. Seth Bailey, Paxton McQuillan and Tucker Lind all had a touchdown reception.

On defense Kelly Lind had seven solo tackles and assisted on three. He caused caused two fumbles and blocked a punt. Brastrup had two solo tackles and assisted on two, with two fumble recoveries. Anderson had three solo tackles and assisted on three. Gunnar Ward had one solo tackle and assisted on four.

Warburton said, “Overall we played solid on both sides of the ball and got a complete team win. We have a bye this week then we play Park City on the road next week. Our boys are really looking forward to the challenge.”
