Makayla Harper of Park City and Sawyer Wiggs of Columbus have signed letters of intent to play softball for Dawson Community College in Glendive next year. Both athletes have been starters since their freshman year on the Renegade High School softball team. They have also played together for five years for the Montana Xtreme ASA softball program.
Buccaneer Head Coach Jim LeProwse said “Makayla possesses a tremendous amount of power and she is also a talented third baseman for the Stillwater Renegades. During Makayla’s visit to Dawson she hit multiple balls out of the park during her workout and we knew right away that we needed to do whatever we could to sign her. We look forward to Makayla hitting in a power spot in our lineup next season. She has a great attitude and will fit perfectly in our program. I look forward to seeing her do great things at Dawson for the next couple of years.”
Of Wiggs, Coach LeProwse said, “Sawyer is extremely athletic and will bring a lot of talent to our program. She is a solid infielder and hits the ball well. We definitely look forward to Sawyer making an immediate impact in our program next year. I am very excited that Sawyer chose Dawson to continue her athletic and academic careers. She is a great person and has a very good work ethic and a drive to win. She is a perfect fit to our program.”
