By all accounts, it was a great day for golf and raising funds for the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation on June 6, when the Laurel Ladies Golf Association sponsored the annual Rally For a Cure golf tournament.  Forty-Eight golfers played two-person scramble and raised $2,093 for the local Susan G. Kommen foundation.

Rally for the Cure is a grassroots program that works to spread awareness about breast health and breast cancer in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Their mission is to empower people to join the fight against breast cancer by educating their friends, family and community on the importance of early detection through an activity they are passionate about.

The Laurel tournament was organized with the leadership of Brenda McNeil and Kris Johnstone.

Sponsors were Mitchell Golf, Del Wade, Tom Anderson, M.A.R.S, Ernie Pawliw, Pam Waddell, LuLu McQueen, Johnstone Family and the Laurel Golf Club

Kyla Clancy added an extra twist to the game by extending the player’s drive on 18 giving teams potential to improve their score with her added talent and a small donation.

The closest to the pin on 8 was Morgan O’Neil at 15’ and Rob Engh at 1’8”
