Gerald Gene Ekle

Gerald Gene Ekle, 72, of Columbus passed away on January 24, 2019. Gerald was born in Billings on June 24, 1946, a son of Stanley and Violet (Loyning) Ekle. 

Gerald graduated from Columbus High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was married to Shirley Myers on June 13, 1969 in Columbus. Gerald worked as a ranch hand at the Beartooth Ranch and later worked for Stillwater Mining Company.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, visiting with friends and family, working as a part-time mower repairman, and anything and everything to do with his grandchildren. Gerald’s family was very special to him and he was proud of all of them.

Gerald is survived by his two sons, Jason Ekle and Tige (Traci) Ekle; mother, Vi Ekle; siblings, Kenneth (Colleen) Ekle, Dennis Ekle, and Cindy (Verle) Davison; grandchildren, Blake, Alycia, Jackson, Kane, and Cady, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Myers) Ekle; father, Stanley Ekle; brothers, Richard and Larry Ekle; and granddaughter, Bailey Goode.

Gerald will truly be missed by his family and all who knew him. No services are planned.
