Garden club preparing for May 20th plant sale

The Laurel Garden Club met Thursday, April 13, at the Laurel First Interstate Bank. The co-hostesses were Kayrene Kraft and Barb Kress. The meeting was full of local garden business. Between having Chamber garden bed clean-ups and checking on the flowers for the Elsie Johnston Garden, the residents of Laurel will soon have a visual that Spring truly is in the air and on the ground. There is still much clean up to be done, but members are eager to tackle the job. The members helped make seed bombs for the local 4th graders for their celebration of Arbor Day on May 2nd, 2017. These little flower seed dirt bombs will hopefully encourage children to leave a little beauty wherever they go And the seed bombs will also help local birds, butterflies and bees with the flowers that grow.
The next meeting will be at Ann Fox’s, Thursday, May 18, at 10 a.m. Members are reminded to pack their own lunches and bring gardening gloves and gardening tools to help pull flowers to be sold at the Saturday, May 20th annual Plant and Bake Sale. Aprons are here. Members are to bring $12.25 for their apron at the next meeting.
