Fishing license fee in effect retroactively

The Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Pass was approved in Senate Bill 363 and signed into law by Gov. Steve Bullock.
This AIS pass is now required for all anglers The cost is $2 for residents and $15 for nonresidents. The pass is not technically a license fee increase. The funds were authorized by the legislature to fund the fight against aquatic invasive species. The AIS Prevention Pass is available at all Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks license providers and online. License holders who have already purchased licenses will need to go online or to a license provider and purchase the new pass.
