Fire Report - 8/30/18

• On August 20 at 9:45 a.m., on the 400 block of E. 6th Street, the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm activation. Upon arrival they found that the responsible party was trying to fix the alarm and accidentally triggered it. No further action was taken.

• On August 20 at 11:20 a.m., on River Road and Bretta Drive, firefighters responded to a one-vehicle rollover with injuries. Upon arrival, they found one patient that had been ejected from the vehicle. Fire secured the scene and assisted with patient care with AMR and Help Flight. Patient was stabilized and transported to hospital by Help Flight. No further action was taken. All fire and medical were secured by Highway Patrol.

• On August 20 at 5:55 p.m., on the 4700 block of Snowline Vista Way, a smoke alarm was activated due to a malfunction. Firefighters investigated the cause.

• On August 21 at 6:30 a.m., on Saddleback Drive, fire assisted medical.

• On August 21 at 1:00 p.m., on the 600 block of Roundhouse Drive, a smoke alarm was activated. Nothing was found upon arrival.

• On August 21 at 7:20 p.m., on Buffalo Trail Road, fire crews performed a smoke check north of town. Nothing was found.

• On August 21 at 10:30 p.m., on Buffalo Trail Road, there was a fire reported up at container site. Upon arrival, it was determined to be the intentional burn of disposed vegetation. No action taken.

• On August 22 at 1:55 a.m., near mile marker 438 on I-90, fire responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries. Crews secured the scene and provided traffic control. No further action was taken.

• On August 24 at 5:15 a.m., on Shay Road and Frank Road, firefighters responded to a vehicle in a ditch.

• On August 24 at 9:10 a.m., on 3rd Avenue, there was an unintentional fire alarm activated due to testing.

• On August 25 at 4:50 p.m., on Wold Road, fire responded to farm equipment in the ditch. It was caused by a flat tire and provided traffic control.

• On August 26 at 1:20 a.m., on the Highway 212 Bridge, a campfire was reported underneath a vehicle bridge. Firefighters made contract with the subjects and had them extinguish the fire.

• On August 26, at 8:35 a.m., on West Highway 212, fire responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries. The accident involved a Suburban versus a semi and extrication was needed.

• On August 26 at 7:35 p.m., on the 200 block of South 1st Avenue, fire responded to a call for assistance by EMS. Firefighters loaded a patient on to an ambulance.
