FCCLA holds District 10 meeting in Bridger

The Family Career and Community Leaders of America held their District 10 meeting in Bridger on October 24. Laurel High Senior Teresa Twichel, the current District 10 President, chaired the meeting. LHS FCCLA advisor, Haley Barker, said Lance Lanning was the keynote speaker and “did a fantastic job.”
Three candidates ran for district president and four students ran for secretary. These students were elected to the following positions: Jocelyn Ott, Reed Point, president Reed Point Chapter; Maya Smith, Harlowton, 1st vice president; Saige Okken, Red Lodge, 2nd vice president; Taylor Noble, Laurel, secretary; Emmy Martin, Harlowton, recreation leader; Mercedes Hoff, Reed Point, historian; and Kourtnee Schill, Bridger, outreach coordinator.
Barker said Laurel also started a middle school chapter and its members attended the District meeting.
“This is a brand new addition to FCCLA and I am extremely excited about this advancement for leadership and opportunities for students at LHS,” Barker said.
