Laurel Police Report

The following represent a portion of the calls responded to by officers from the Laurel Police Department. Unless otherwise indicated, all cases are considered under investigation. Anyone with information about these or other crimes is encouraged to call the LPD at 628-8737.

June 29

• At 10:34 a.m. Christopher Barr, 38, of Laurel was arrested on the 2600 block of Atchison for partner or family member assault (causing bodily injury).

June 30

• At 10:51 a.m. a theft of a gun from a vehicle was reported on the 500 block of Woodland. Later in the week Billings PD advised they had received a report that a Billings resident found a handgun in their mailbox. BPD ran the serial number and it was the weapon stolen from Laurel. LPD recovered the handgun and the incident is under investigation.

• At 9:01 p.m. the State Liquor Store reported a green minivan ran into their building and left the scene. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and David Daughtry, 77, of Laurel was charged with DUI (2nd offense).

July 1

• At 1:22 a.m. an intoxicated female juvenile was reported on the 1000 block of 4th Ave. The reporting party found the female in the alley. She was charged with minor in possession of intoxicating substances.

July 2

• At 7:48 a.m. a theft was reported at the Town Pump on South 1st Ave. Two females and one male stole Twisted Tea and left the scene in a silver Honda CRV. Officers are reviewing security footage and the incident is under investigation.

• At 10:09 p.m. officers received a report of a Chevy pickup spinning brodies on the high school practice field. The vehicle was located and Walter Windsor, 20, of Woodville Miss. was charged with DUI (0.02 BAC or higher while under the age of 21).

July 3

• At 6:56 p.m. a theft of a wallet was reported at the Tin Horn Casino. The victim gave a description of the vehicle and it was located at Walmart where a male and female were caught trying to use the debit/credit cards. Lacie Davis, 39, of Roundup and Edward Allen, 40, of Powell, Wyo. were arrested and charged with theft (1st offense), deceptive practices, felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs (opiates/ methamphetamine) and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
