Don’t forget to vote

Folks who haven’t quite made up their minds how to vote may have put their ballot into the ‘old mail’ pile or buried it under a stack of newspapers. Anyone in that category should take a moment now to locate and fill that ballot out. At stake is the fate of Laurel Schools, and by extension, the city and surrounding communities. There are also a number of city seats to fill, including mayor. As a reminder, the local candidates are Tom Nelson and Dave Waggoner, mayor; Heidi Sparks, Evan Bruce and Doug Poehls, Ward 1 city councilor; Bruce McGee is running unopposed in Ward 2; and Irv Wilke and Kat Stokes, Ward 3 councilors. There are no candidates running for the seat open in Ward 4. Ballots must be returned to the Yellowstone County Election Office by Tuesday, Nov. 7.
