Dodgers bringing home wins from the road

After playing Spearfish in the Hladky Memorial Wood Bat Tournament, Rapid City, Sheridan and Rock Springs over the long Memorial Day weekend, the Dodgers’ record now stands at 10-5 for the season.
In their only loss, the team fell to Spearfish, S.D. 2-1, Saturday. The Laurel team won every game after that to take the title. They beat the Rapid City Expos 7-1; the Gillette Roughriders 3-1 and Rock Springs 13-1.

The Dodgers jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 2-1 to Spearfish,SD on Saturday.
Spearfish,SD took the lead in the tenth inning on an RBI single by Devan Fox.
Parker Louks got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He tossed 4 2/3 innings of shutout ball. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered two hits.
Kyle Cannon was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
The Dodgers’ lone run of the ballgame came in the third inning on an RBI single by Dawson Cortese.
Spearfish,SD never surrendered the lead after the tenth inning, scoring one run on two singles.

The Dodgers sixth-inning burst enough to top
Rapid City, SD, 7-1
A five-run explosion in the sixth inning carried the Dodgers to a 7-1 win in seven innings over Rapid City,SD at Gillette Wyoming on Saturday.
The Dodgers scored in the sixth on a fielder’s choice, a hit by pitch, a two-run single by Mason O’Donnell, and an RBI single by Trevor Meier.
O’Donnell racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers relied on Carson West to eat up innings en route to the win. Carson West pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out five.
Wahl was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked three and struck out two.
The Dodgers never surrendered the lead after the third inning, scoring two runs on a sacrifice fly by Meier and an RBI single by O’Donnell.

Early lead gives the Dodgers victory over Sheridan,WY, 6-0
The Dodgers jumped out to an early lead on Sheridan,WY and captured a 6-0 victory on Sunday at Gillette Wyoming.
With five runs in the first three innings, the Dodgers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A two-run double by Karson Zeiler and a fielder’s choice in the second inning helped the Dodgers put some runs on the board early.
Zeiler racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers’ Mason O’Donnell kept Sheridan,WY off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on six hits while striking out two.
Gustafson was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
The Dodgers added two more runs in the top of the third. Kanyin Moran started the inning with a single, bringing home O’Donnell. That was followed up by Zeiler’s single, scoring Chase Feller.

The Dodgers escape Gillette,Wy behind Carson Hoke’s 7 strikeouts, 3-0
Carson Hoke hopes every outing could go as well as Sunday, as Carson Hoke threw a shutout to carry the Dodgers to a 3-0 victory over Gillette,Wy. at Gillette, Wy. in seven innings.
Gillette,Wy had no answer for Carson Hoke, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Hoke gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.
Chase Feller pushed the Dodgers ahead, in the sixth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Carson Hoke singled to get on base in the sixth. He then went from first to second on a single by Mason O’Donnell.
Harris was charged with the loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed three runs.

Dual-threat carries
the Dodgers past
Rock Springs,WY 13-1
Dawson Cortese was strong at the plate and on the hill in carrying the Dodgers to a 13-1 victory over Rock Springs,WY on Monday at Gillette Wyoming.
Cortese racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Dodgers. He singled in the second inning.
Cortese looked sharp on the mound. Cortese gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out 10 during his five innings of work.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Dodgers to easily put away Rock Springs,WY. A two-run double by Chase Feller in the first inning and an error and a two-run single by Cortese during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Dodgers.
Grossnickle couldn’t get it done on the rubber for Rock Springs,WY, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked seven and struck out one.
