Ramblings of a Conservative Cow Doctor

Over Thanksgiving, the trophy wife and I scrunched into an SUV with son Tyler, his trophy wife Jill, and their four mini-Kernses. It was a speed trip to visit our daughter, Chelsie, and her four mini-Warners, so we left Laurel late Tuesday afternoon, drove all night, and rolled onto Whidbey Island at five the next morning.

It had been months since my last visit to Oak Harbor, so each Warner wee-one showed me a year’s worth of their gathered treasures. Five-year-old, Cassidy, had decorated her little bedroom with a small Christmas tree. Under the tree she placed a picture of her father, Marcus, who is an avionics technician on the USS Truman somewhere in the Atlantic. Cassidy explained all she wanted was her daddy home for Christmas. (It’s been two weeks and I still tear-up at her genuine heartache.) The next day, while setting the Thanksgiving table, the trophy wife placed Marc’s photo and his USS Truman cap on the table in front of an empty chair. His absence was moving. Thinking the scene might trigger a meltdown, we cleared the memorabilia before the mini-Warners joined us for our family feast of thanks. If the Navy schedule holds true, Marcus should be home a couple days before Christmas. Cassidy gets her wish, and here is why I mention this.

Our nation was founded on freedom and the exceptional idea all men are created equal. From the Pilgrims of Plymouth Rock to today’s patriots on the USS Truman, Americans have sacrificed to secure the natural rights endowed us by our Creator. Soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and their loved ones are a special breed, but sadly there are evil forces at work here at home while they are serving freedom abroad. A recent You-Gov poll of Generation Z and millennials revealed 49 percent believe America is inherently racist. Worse yet, 44 percent believe President Obama had a bigger impact on American history than did George Washington. Read that last sentence out loud, twice, so it sinks in before I jump to my point.

Whether your children be 13 or 38 and attending high school or institutes of higher indoctrination it is your responsibility as a patriotic parent and grandparent to deprogram and reprogram them. Many youngsters are brainwashed snowflakes, incapable of independent thought and are educated just enough to regurgitate progressive rhetoric all while thinking they are the smartest people in the room. Answer me this: Who will stand for old glory and sacrifice to answer liberty’s call if 49 percent of youngsters believe our great republic is racist? Progressivism is purposely destroying the dream called America.
