Basketball is back at the First Interstate Arena at Billings MetraPark, and it’s buzzing with anticipation. Beginning today, March 12, is the MHSA 2020 State Class A Boys’ Basketball tournament. After the varsity Locomotive boys team led by head coach, Paul Barta, locked in their spot at State for winning fourth place in Divisionals the final week of February, they bounce back in game four against the West’s top-seed, Browning, at 5 p.m. tonight.

Games will start at 9 a.m. where Park High (3E) plays Frenchtown (2W), and will continue through the evening. The Metra is selling day passes for the tournament will cost $16 for adults and $9 for students, and passes for the whole weekend to last through Saturday will cost $41 for adults and $25 for students. If Laurel beats Browning, they will play again on Friday at 5 p.m. in game eight against the winner of game three of Billings Central (2E) versus Butte Central (3W). If Laurel loses tonight, they will play Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. in game six, a loser-out match, against the losing team of game three.

Game two will be this morning at 10:30 a.m. with East’s top-seed, Hardin, playing West’s bottom-seed, Polson. Game three versing Billings Central and Butte Central will be today at 3:30 p.m.
