Chase leads to destruction of Laurel police vehicle and arrest

Laurel Police Report

The following represent a portion of the calls responded to by officers from the Laurel Police Department. Unless otherwise indicated, all cases are considered under investigation. Anyone with information about these or other crimes is encouraged to call the LPD at 628-8737.

May 11

• At 4:36 p.m. a theft was reported on the 2600 block of Atchison. Checks were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle and two were cashed at local businesses. The incident is under investigation.

May 12

• At 10:02 a.m. a push out was reported at Walmart. The items stolen were valued at $444. The incident is under investigation.

• At 3:32 p.m. Western Security Bank reported a male was in the drive thru attempting to deposit a stolen check totaling $2,200. Officers located the subject and Mario Daniels, 48, of Billings was arrested for felony theft.

May 13

• At 12:56 a.m. officers arrested Zachery Fox, 34, for aggravated DUI on the 900 block of 12th Ave. He was transported to the Yellowstone County Detention Facility for a blood draw.

May 14

• At 1:41 a.m. officers arrested Tyler Vondall, 27, of Billings on the 2400 block of East Maryland for felony DUI (4th offense), fleeing or eluding a police officer, theft exceeding $1,500 and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

• At 1:11 p.m. a theft of $100 in merchandise was reported at Walmart. Officers have a license plate and the incident is under investigation.

May 15

• At 12:30 a.m. Justin Ruff, 39, of Colorado was arrested for aggravated DUI (4th offense) and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

May 16

• At 10 p.m. an officer attempted to stop a vehicle with no head or tail lights. The vehicle failed to stop and the pursuit went into Billings with Yellowstone County deputies and Montana Highway Patrol involved. During the chase the vehicle hit a Laurel patrol car then the officer hit the back of the vehicle and the airbag deployed. The driver then fled on foot but was apprehended. Jared Lee Harrison, 37, of Billings was arrested for felony criminal endangerment, felony parole violation, DUI and fleeing or eluding a police officer. He was transported to YCDF.
