Carl Matthew Koski

Carl Matthew Koski was born July 14, 1929, to Vernon Uno and Fannie Rintala Koski of Roberts, Montana. He died February 28, 2020, at the age of 90.

Carl was a military veteran who honorably served in the Army overseas during the Korean Conflict. After discharge, Carl attended and graduated from Montana State College with a degree in education. Carl worked for the Laurel School System where he taught 8th and 9th grade English until he retired in 1992.

Carl was a family man and an active outdoorsman. His interests included hiking, skiing, fishing, hunting and horseback riding with his family. He was a member of the Park City Saddle Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Finnish Kaleva organization. He was the type of person who put his total effort into activities he engaged in, be it becoming Scout Master to assist with his sons’ scouting efforts or representing the Roberts’ Finnish Kaleva organization at the National level.

Carl married Mary Ann Underseth of Helena, Montana, with whom he spent 57 wonderful years. He is survived by sons Dale Koski (Janus) of Port Orchard, Washington, and Ron Koski (Tonya) of Pasco, Washington, and daughter Donna Pinnow (Jack) of Billings, Montana. He had 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Harriet Mikkola.  Carl was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ann, and sister Helen Brickman.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., March 10, 2020, at the Methodist Church in Laurel, Montana.  Burial will be later attended by close family members. Memorials should be made to the Finnish Kaleva Park Association, P.O. Box 128, Roberts, MT 59070.
