Bunny was born on July 22, 1929, in Boston, Massachusetts to Canadian parents Harrison and Isabelle Hersey. She grew up in Canada from 1930 to 1944. At age 15, she moved to Brookline, Massachusetts to live with relatives and complete her education. In 1951, she joined the US Navy WAVE program and while stationed in San Francisco, she met and married sailor, Robert J. King. They had two children: son, Wade and daughter, Lori. Her husband became a Navy man, and his transfers took the family to live in California (three places), Michigan, Washington state, Alaska, and Germany. Bunny and her family returned to Laurel in 1970. Bunny loved skiing, a sport she took up at age 48 and enjoyed the many hours they hiked trails in the mountains.

Bunny is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Alice. She is survived by her husband, Bob of Laurel; son Wade and his wife, Marlene and her son, Chris of Billings; daughter, Lori of New Orleans, Louisiana and her children Alec, Wendy, and Owen Redpath.

At Bunny’s request, no formal funeral is planned.
