Power outage hits Laurel after truck hits power pole

A truck took out a power pole and line at Laurel's Town Pump at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The resultant electricity outage has affected a large portion of the city, including traffic lights on SE 4th St. and businesses in the area. Utility workers are expected to be making repairs at least throughout the day.
