Operation Christmas Child underway through Rock Church

The Rock Church in Laurel will again be a Relay Center for Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse headed by Franklin Graham. This project is in its 24th year and is the world’s largest Christmas project.
Christmas gift shoeboxes are sent to hurting and less fortunate children all over the world by trucks, planes, boats, dog, sleds and even elephants. Many of these gifts go into war-torn countries and most of these children have never received a gift in their life. Samaritan’s Purse works to meet the spiritual and physical needs, including providing clean water and health care. Operation Christmas Child addresses a need for which children are just as desperate – the need to have hope and feel loved.
Anyone wishing to participate in OCC is invited to bring Shoebox gifts to the Rock Church at 820 West 9th St. the week Nov. 13-20. The boxes will be crated by the Relay Team and transported to a collection site in Billings where the crates will be loaded on trucks to be shipped to Collection Centers around the USA.
