Margaret “Peggy” Otis

Margaret “Peggy” Otis left us on October 4th, 2017 after a very brief battle with cancer. She passed away with her family by her side in Billings, Montana.
She was born December 30th, 1953 to Oakley and Joanne (Walks) Jackson in Billings. She moved with her parents and three siblings to Laurel in 1965. She attended school in Laurel.
Peggy loved camping, and other outdoor activities with family and friends. Her favorite place to camp was Lewistown with her best friend Cinda Riddle. She enjoyed cooking and baking and her family loved to enjoy her delicious meals. One of her specialties was her Christmas candy. Crocheting and reading were also some of her favorite past times.
Peggy was known to her family as a witty and fun person to spend time with. She was a very generous person to everyone who knew her. She especially loved to spoil her grandkids when she got the chance.
Her proudest accomplishment are her daughter and three sons. Peggy married Lee Otis in 1972. Together they had three children. They later divorced. Peggy and Lawrence “Bud” Berry have been together since 1984. Together they had one son.
Peggy is survived by her children Shawnda (Brian) Musgrave and son Taylor of Billings; Randy (Erin) Otis and daughters Hatti and Kya of Williamsburg, Va.; Patrick Otis of Cody, Wyo.; Jesse (Katie) Jackson of Belgrade, Mont., and children Jaden Boardman, Dallas Jackson and Emma Jackson; sister Linda (John) Frodsham of Laurel; brothers Chuck (Linda) Jackson of Billings and Ron Jackson of Spokane, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by our special friend Amanda Clark. Amanda tended to and cared for Peggy over the last couple years of her life. A big thank you to Amanda from our family.
Memorial services are at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Smith Funeral Chapel 315 E. 3rd St. Laurel.
