The Laurel girls’ soccer team remained undefeated in the early season with convincing wins over Stevensville and Corvallis.

The 4-0 start isn’t a surprise as Aloma Jess’s squad is coming together as they eye another run at a state championship.

While an 11-0 win over Stevensville, followed by a 4-0 victory over Corvallis looks outstanding by the sheer domination.

Stevensville managed only one shot on goal. That was compared to the 29 Laurel had. If you don’t shoot, you can’t score and if you don’t score you probably won’t win.

It is a good thing that Laurel can score and defend the goal as good as any team in the state.

Freshman Morgan Maack scored four goals in the two games to lead the Locos in scoring.  Aspen and Maeson Cotter each scored two goals as did Sammi Spitzer.

The girls hit the road for Friday and Saturday for games in Polson and Whitefish to finish off the nonconference season. Belgrade awaits on Sept. 16 in Belgrade to start the short conference season.

In the early going, Laurel and Central are the teams to beat in Eastern A and probably the state.
