Larry Knight Lorfing

Our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Larry Lorfing, 73, died on January 21st, 2017. He was the only child of Johnnie and Arthur Lorfing and was born in Houston Texas. He moved around much of his early life before making a home in Laurel, Mont., in 1969, where he lived the rest of his life with his wife Nancy (Morris) Lorfing, who died in 2014. He had a meaningful career as a teacher at Graff Elementary School and was a talented actor who performed in local theaters most of his life. He stayed involved in the Jaycees and loved to hunt, play cards and golf.
He is survived by his two sons Don (Amy) and Scott (Leigh Ann) Lorfing, as well as his three grandchildren, Eugene (32), Tristen (18), and Kyrie (15).
There will be a service of memory and celebration on Saturday, June 10th, at the Jaycee Hall in Laurel (details will be announced at a later date), so that his ashes can be placed beside his beloved wife’s Nancy’s on the upper Boulder River that next Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund is going to be set up in his name to honor his life’s dedication to teaching and improving the lives of young people.
Arrangements are by Cremation & Funeral Gallery. Condolences can be sent through through “Our Families.”
