Lady J-Hawks lose close game to top team
The Joliet girls played a strong defensive game in a 37-29 victory over Roundup last week.
“I was really proud of how the girls played,” said coach John Nelson. “Roundup is a tough place to play in and to get a conference win was nice. Our defense did a really nice job and our press caused a lot of problems.”
Taylor Wright had 11 and teammate Danni Nardinger had seven.

Playing against one of the top teams and getting as close as three points is hard to swallow, but a good omen of better things to come. The Lady J-Hawks lost 48-45 to Red Lodge last week.
“We played our most complete game of the year against Red Lodge,” said coach John Nelson. “They are a really good team and top team in our district. They thumped us pretty good in Red Lodge so to compete the way we did gets me excited about how the girls are playing heading into tournaments.”
Shayla Webber had 10 points in the loss and Joliet led most of the game until letting Red Lodge close in on the lead in the third quarter and eventually setting up the fourth quarter close loss.
Next up is the District Tournament in Red Lodge from Feb. 16-18.
