Garden Club planning for spring plantings

The Garden Club met Thursday, Nov. 9, at First Interstate Bank in Laurel. Members have been busy with planning and ordering flowers for the Elsie Johnston Garden for 2018. Making purchases from the Laurel Garden Club’s flower sale in May supports the purchase of flowers and plants for the Elsie Johnston Garden and also pays for part of the beautification of Laurel Chamber of Commerce.
The Laurel Garden Club will have a tree in The Crossings tree contest, so make sure to stop by on Sunday Dec. 3 and vote for your favorite tree. New officers are in place for the next year as well as replacements for positions like historian and callers.
The next meeting will be the annual Christmas Party, Friday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Laurel Nazarene Church. It is always a wonderful time for the club members and their immediate families to come together to celebrate. There will be lots of food and laughter for those who attend.
The next meeting will be Jan. 11, at First Interstate Bank. Everyone is welcome. Come and learn and grow with us.
