Dashing through the snow

Courtesy of Marta Ostler. Laurel 8th grader Wyatt Ostler added to an already remarkable cross country season by winning the USA Track and Field Montana Association Junior Olympic Championship in Bozeman on Saturday by 42 seconds. In deep snow and slush he lapped the field by running the 4000 meter (2.5 mile) race in 16:02. Ostler won all six middle school races he participated in this year, and by winning this latest event he qualified for the Junior Olympic Cross Country National Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. on Dec. 9. Then, after he won the race, he helped lead the Laurel Traxx 8th grade basketball team to a championship at the Bozeman Fall Ball Classic.
