Darlene Orr Kober
Darlene Orr Kober

Darlene passed away Friday, November 24, after a long illness.
She was born to Lorraine and Russell Orr June 14, 1939 in Laurel. She attended school in Laurel and at a young age married Russell Kober and they had one son, Doug, in 1958.
They moved to Cooke City and owned and operated The Wilderness Trading Co. gift shop for many years. After Russell’s death in 1987, Darlene continued that then managed the Soda Butte Lodge. She returned to Billings and later moved back home to Laurel where she managed the Meadowood Apartments.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Russell (Butch), husband, and her son, Doug.
She is survived by a cousin Gene (Linda) Coulter in Washington.
Darlene never was fortunate to be blessed with grandchildren, but she fell in love with three of her friend’s and they returned that love. They are Sarah Osborne, preceding her in death, Tanner Osborne and Harley and Colter Euell.
In the summer a group of friends will gather in Cooke City to celebrate her life. We will find her final resting place.
Darlene, your sassy, sometimes gruffy attitude and kind heart will be missed. R.I.P. dear friend.
